An Mother’s Day ode to my mom
I felt the band between our hearts,
Was shattered and broken apart.
So painful…watching you depart!
Christ would not allow this to pass,
Making bands of rubber, not glass,
United!…despite the crevasse.
You won the race and fought the good fight,
So many poems…what MORE can I write????
When Jesus asked you, “Show me your heart?”
“It’s bound to a priest…that’s a good start!
I helped you make him, God’s work of art!”
Honoring Our Blessed Mother
Blest, beautiful, bountiful…bright!
Luminous, lively, love-filled…light!
Daring, determined…delight!
Perfection, polished…polite!
Subtle, sweet, soft…sunlight!
This short list could go on and on!
Let’s honor our heavenly mom!
Put your affection on display,
For Mary, on this Mother’s Day!
The blues and blahs
Woeful, weary, winter?
Spiritual splinter?
Bellowing, bleating…blahs?
Praying? Pondering?…Pause!!
Leave the selfish faux pas,
Make Christ’s Kingdom your cause!
Holy marriage!
What is life’s crown jewel?
Great marriage! Old school?
Time for a renewal?
Avoid being cruel,
Forgiveness is the rule,
Petty minuscule!
Leave your whirlpool,
Stop and pray…for fuel,
Holy marriage? Cool!!
Climb on!
Climb on!…through fog and rain,
Climb on!…with aches and pain,
Climb on!…let me explain:
Christ is there, you won’t drop!
Leading you, to the top.
Don’t do a belly flop!
Trust…love…pray…and don’t stop!
Progress not perfection
Perfect marriage, perfect kids, perfect home?
Imperfection is part of your genome!
Jesus loves you, always, no matter what!
He knows your weaknesses, and your shortcuts!
Slipping, sliding, falling? Then get back up!
Even pro golfers can miss the short putts!
Focus on Jesus! Not the scuttlebutt!!
Make others happy!
