With Christ as your caddie…your attaché:
You’ll hit em straight…keep it in the fairway,
Lower your handicap…in medal play.
Spiritual “pars, birdies”…on display!
Allow Jesus to mold and shape the clay,
Wisdom and strength…inundate those who pray,
Jolting your soul…more than cafe au lait!
Please don’t wait for tomorrow, start today!!
Poems
Trust In God
Darkness, doubt, despair…pain?
Devil’s deception…feign?
Watching, wondering…strain?
Working, worrying…migraine?
Live in the moment…now!
Be faithful to your vows!
Don’t ask God why? But how?
Whatever He allows!
Embrace His plan…kowtow!
Summer vacation
Summer vacation!…focus on fun?
Perhaps too much on getting things done?
Team player?…or are you number one?
Gentleness!…not Attila the Hun!
Make some home made cookies…hot crossed buns!
Special time with the kids…one on one!
Daily Mass and prayer…that’s a home run!
It’s fine to relax and take some sun,
Just be selfless…think of everyone!
All in, all the time?
All in, all the time?
Uphill, downhill climbs?
Long days, overtime?
God’s will is sublime,
So silent…no chime,
Mysterious…mime,
Peaceful…paradigm,
Make Christ your internal rhyme!
What will you be remembered by?
Crabby, cranky…cantankerous?
Revengeful, righteous…rancorous?
Changing??? Choose compassion, caring…
Selflessness, service…start sharing!
What will you be remembered by?
We certainly do not need more “wise guys”!
Holiness, kindness…edify!!
All for Jesus Christ…glorify!!
An Mother’s Day ode to my mom
I felt the band between our hearts,
Was shattered and broken apart.
So painful…watching you depart!
Christ would not allow this to pass,
Making bands of rubber, not glass,
United!…despite the crevasse.
You won the race and fought the good fight,
So many poems…what MORE can I write????
When Jesus asked you, “Show me your heart?”
“It’s bound to a priest…that’s a good start!
I helped you make him, God’s work of art!”
Honoring Our Blessed Mother
The blues and blahs
Woeful, weary, winter?
Spiritual splinter?
Bellowing, bleating…blahs?
Praying? Pondering?…Pause!!
Leave the selfish faux pas,
Make Christ’s Kingdom your cause!
