Porcupines

November 15, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“Try to exclude the possibility of suffering which the order of nature and the existence of free-wills involve, and you find that you have excluded life itself.” CS Lewis

You can either avoid the porcupines that God has providentially placed in your lives or you can try to love them and maybe even hug them…this is one of the most effective pathways to deep sanctity!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Sanctification

November 14, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“I have learned now that while those who speak about ones miseries usually hurt, but those who keep silence hurt more.” CS Lewis

Kids sanctify parents, and besides this daily reality, so many other difficult relationships and heavy crosses can weigh down the hearts of so many people out there.  I encourage all of you to take it to Jesus, and allow him to lessen the load and soothe your aching heart!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Giving back

November 13, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“There are two ways to get enough. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.” GK Chesterton

When is enough, enough?  Try pulling your excess spending back a bit, and give some of that extra money to a charitable cause…trust me, God will bless you with more than enough peace and inner fulfillment.

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Kids need to pray

November 12, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.” CS Lewis

Kids who learn how to pray from an early age, and truly develop a friendship with Jesus Christ, tend to be more virtuous, selfless and caring…at least this has been my experience in my 20 years of youth ministry.

God bless,

Ambulance prayers

November 11, 2017 by Michael Sliney

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends in Christ,

My mom taught me and my siblings from an early age to say one Hail Mary whenever we heard or saw an ambulance go by…I am sure that particular suffering soul benefits from this simple prayer!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Feelings

November 11, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“It is unwarranted to regard women as inferior because feelings play a central role in their lives. If the feelings vibrating in their hearts are noble, appropriate, good, legitimate, sanctioned, and pleasing to God, then they are precious jewels in God’s sight.” Alice Von Hildebrand

God bless,

Take God along as a friend

November 9, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“Take God for your spouse and friend and walk with him continually, and you will not sin and will learn to love, and the things you must do will work out prosperously for you.” St. John of the Cross

With Christ on your right and our Blessed Mother on your left as your best friends, you have no need to worry…they will guide you, protect you and fill you with their peace and love.  Invite them along!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Finish strong

November 8, 2017 by Michael Sliney

TKC!

“The saints did not all begin well, but they ended well.” St. John Vianney

Most football games are decided in the 4th quarter.  Most saints had a really strong finish of holiness in the final decades of their lives.  Don’t waste time dwelling on the mediocrity or sinfulness of your past, we are still in the game!  Lean into Christ, listen to the Holy Spirit and focus on what God wants from you right now, on each and every play!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
