Team work at home

“All have their worth and each contributes to the worth of the others.” J.R.R. Tolkien
Team work and appreciation of each other’s gifts all begins at home…look for the good in your family members and try to learn from each one. God has placed you on this dream team and it could not be any better for you!

“It is good to think about our having our citizenship in Heaven and the saints of Heaven as our fellow citizens…Then it is easier to bear the things that are on Earth.” St. Edith Stein
When I am on mile 19,20,21 in a marathon, it is so helpful to think about the finish line. When life gets a little tougher and God is asking for more humility and selflessness, this image of entering the heavenly gates might be a good one to remember!

“If, then, I were asked for the most important advice I could give, that which I considered to be the most useful to the men of our century, I should simply say: in the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you.” – Leo Tolstoy

Charity begins at home

“It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start.” St. Teresa of Calcutta
I am so grateful for my two older brothers and older sister…they put with my temperament, they tutored me in math and french, they taught me how to play ping pong, golf, hockey and basketball, knew how to make me smile, and showed me what love was all about in so many ways!
