The empty tomb
TKC!
“Life is passing, Eternity draws nigh: soon shall we live the very life of God. After having drunk deep at the fount of bitterness, our thirst will be quenched at the very source of all sweetness.” St. Therese of Lisieux
The empty tomb reminds us of our own resurrection, not too far away. Keep your eyes on Jesus and on fulfilling his plan for your life! Happy Easter!!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Cracks of light
TKC!
“The endurance of darkness is the preparation for great light.” St. John of the Cross
There is always a crack of light in every darkness…look for it and go towards the light!

Saying “no” graciously
TKC!
“When Charity is deeply rooted in the soul it shows itself exteriorly: there is so gracious a way of refusing what we cannot give, that the refusal pleases as much as the gift.” St. Therese of Lisieux
Imagine how gracefully St. Therese would have said “no”…such an important virtue!
God bless,

Consoling the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Coming back to DC!
TKC!
After serving nearly 6 years as the NY Lumen chaplain, I have been re-assigned as the Washington, DC Lumen chaplain, with a one year transition plan in conjunction with my Lumen work in NY. I will be going to DC for a full week once a month starting this April, with a full time transition happening by the summer of 2019. I am grateful to have another 14 months here in NY, but I am definitely looking forward to this new chapter in my priestly ministry in DC! Excited to be heading back to our Nation’s Capitol!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Calm waters
TKC!
“Strive to preserve your heart in peace; let no event of this world disturb it.” St. John of the Cross
Don’t allow the pebbles of doubt and anxiety disturb the calm waters in your soul…you can only see and hear God when the waters are still!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
