My encounters with a Saint
Thy Kingdom Come!

Porcupines
TKC!
“Try to exclude the possibility of suffering which the order of nature and the existence of free-wills involve, and you find that you have excluded life itself.” CS Lewis
You can either avoid the porcupines that God has providentially placed in your lives or you can try to love them and maybe even hug them…this is one of the most effective pathways to deep sanctity!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Prudence
Sanctification
TKC!
“I have learned now that while those who speak about ones miseries usually hurt, but those who keep silence hurt more.” CS Lewis
Kids sanctify parents, and besides this daily reality, so many other difficult relationships and heavy crosses can weigh down the hearts of so many people out there. I encourage all of you to take it to Jesus, and allow him to lessen the load and soothe your aching heart!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
They key to perseverance
Giving back
TKC!
“There are two ways to get enough. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.” GK Chesterton
When is enough, enough? Try pulling your excess spending back a bit, and give some of that extra money to a charitable cause…trust me, God will bless you with more than enough peace and inner fulfillment.
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Checking your thoughts
Destination? Heavenly
Slouching on this earthly shore?
Listening to waves crash and roar?
Tossing sticks to labradors?
Quick-sand…prisoner of war?
Wake up! Jump into the sea!
Crush your sensuality!
Christ is your faithful trustee,
By your side, with bel esprit,
Destination? Heavenly!
Kids need to pray
TKC!
“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.” CS Lewis
Kids who learn how to pray from an early age, and truly develop a friendship with Jesus Christ, tend to be more virtuous, selfless and caring…at least this has been my experience in my 20 years of youth ministry.
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
