Dehydration and sweat soaked socks!
Tenacious ticks…hovering hawks,
Far away…out in the boondocks!
Sometimes God challenges us…hard!
Surprising…catching us off guard.
Uphill climbs are His “calling card”!
His motive? Love!…don’t disregard!
The view? Wow! A picture postcard!
Prayerful parents…provide peace,
Carefully…correcting caprice,
Mom’s mettle?…Maker’s masterpiece!
Baby?…be-bopping berceuse!
“Pater’s” patience?…paramount piece!
Happy home? Recipe released!!
Take a leap of Faith…God’s in control!
Put your trust in Him…with heart and soul,
Jesus does not deceive…or cajole!
But when his plan begins…to unroll,
Don’t be surprised…when you hit potholes,
The cross of Christ…is our totem pole!
Embrace “your” cross…don’t look for loopholes,
Especially if heaven’s your goal!
Time to eat?…leave aside the phone!
“Family” dinners…not alone!
Questionable food?…please don’t groan!
Not listening?…get in the zone!
Friendliness!…not a heart of stone!
Offer to serve…some ice cream cones!
PLEASE, make Christ’s love…your undertone!
Eight days with Jesus…my BEST Friend!
Suddenly…coming to an end.
Beautiful…wish I could extend!
He tweaked me…asking me to bend.
For my sins…time to make amends.
Intimacy?…need to transcend!
Heart and soul…to him must ascend!
His Blessed Mother will attend!
The extra special dividend?
Christ becomes “REAL”…no pretend!!
Got God’s grace?
Let’s make the case!
Daily Mass? Make space!
Confession? Sin’s erase!
Selflessness? Always embrace!
Holy friends? Check your data base!
Jesus time? Anytime, anyplace!
Heavenly bound? Put God in the first place!!!
Family dinners are a special time,
Golden moments to listen and opine.
Mom whips up her best stuff, it tastes so fine!
Parents can take the pulse, in ways sublime.
This demands great effort to make it work,
Putting up with siblings may cause some irks.
A moment to unwind, relax, and smirk…
A “tight knit bond” is one of many perks.
Kids may complain but they yearn for this meal.
Mom and dad’s presence prove their love is real.
Special prayers are said, wounds can often heal.
Please make it work, strive for this ideal.!!
Strong winds and waves batter our souls from life’s storms.
Time chisels away at our bodily form.
Science tries to slow down this aging process,
But it can create even more of a mess!
This purging will cause the proud to weep and mourn.
Hope in this world alone makes you forlorn.
Profound peace comes from authentic selflessness.
The meek and humble of heart are truly blest!
Our true homeland awaits in heaven, not here.
Conform your life to Christ, serve others, don’t fear!
This eternal encounter with God is near!
