Serve Christ, not the world

November 20, 2016 by Michael Sliney

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

“I fear God’s judgment, not man’s.” St. Padre Pio

You and Jesus, one on one, looking back on your life, and especially on your love…this should be the joyful encounter of a “friend meeting a friend.” Christ is Our King…serve Him, not the world!

God bless,

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

“Fly from bad companions as from the bite of a poisonous snake.” St. John Bosco

If a friend no longer inspires and challenges you to have a deeper faith, a stronger marriage and to be a more selfless person, it may be time to question the value of that friendship.

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

“In the Sacrament of Penance, “Jesus receives us with all of our limitations, He bring us the mercy of the Father who forgives us, and transforms our heart, rendering it a new heart, capable of loving Him, who loved His own to the end (cf. John 13:1). And this love is manifested in his mercy. Jesus always forgives us.” Pope Francis

Allow Christ to heal your wounded heart, strengthen your tired soul, put enthusiasm back into your system…go to confession regularly!!

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

“In the light of Mary, the Church sees in the face of women the reflection of a beauty which mirrors the loftiest sentiments of which the human heart is capable: the self-offering totality of love; the strength that is capable of bearing the greatest sorrows; limitless fidelity and tireless devotion to work; the ability to combine penetrating intuition with words of support and encouragement.” St. John Paul II

Woman are a huge blessing to the Church, the family and the world.  Please ladies, live up to this lofty ideal…we all need your holiness!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

“Don’t let your sins turn into bad habits.” St. Teresa of Avila

Bad language starts small and can easily grow into an ugly monster…and yes, your kids will assimilate this behavior.  Catch it and eradicate it…self-mastery is needed!

Family prayer

November 12, 2016 by Michael Sliney

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

“Family prayer has its own characteristic qualities. It is prayer offered in common, husband and wife together, parents and children together…by reason of their dignity and mission, Christian parents have the specific responsibility of educating their children in prayer, introducing them to gradual discovery of the mystery of God and to personal dialogue with Him…” St. John Paul II

Saying grace before meals, attending Mass on Sunday, praying the rosary together, reading and reflecting on Scripture together…all powerful ways to introduce your children to a deeper friendship with Christ.

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
