St. Mother Teresa
Irrigate Deserts
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles but to irrigate deserts.” CS Lewis
Today, kids need to be nurtured and encouraged in the Faith. Let them know how much Christ wants to be their friend, how much Christ loves them and wants to help them…irrigate their young souls with the wisdom and beauty of our Faith!

Prayer from the heart
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“When we pray, the voice of the heart must be heard more than that proceeding from the mouth.” – St. Bonaventure
Any conversation that I have with my mom is from the heart, with total focus and attention to her and what she may want to tell me. It should be even more heart-felt in our conversations with God,…
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Which voice are you listening to?
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
”If certain thoughts bother you, it is devil who causes you to worry, and not God, Who, being the spirit of peace, grants you tranquility.” – St. Padre Pio
Which voice are you listening to?
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Allow Christ in!
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“You would not have called to me unless I had been calling to you,” said the Lion.” CS Lewis
Jesus really, REALLY wants to be your best friend. He is always gently knocking on the door of your heart…will you let him in?
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
God’s interruptions
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“What one calls the interruptions are precisely one’s real life — the life God is sending one, day by day.” CS Lewis
As I was ascending the steps of a subway station last week, a gentleman was waiting on the top with an outstretched hand and a big smile. He caught me off guard and my focus was on getting to my lunch appointment…he was simply happy to see a priest and I should have lingered a little longer with this gentleman. God may have someone on your schedule today that you are not aware of…be prepared to give that person your love!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Walking the walk
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“If conversion to Christianity makes no improvement in a man’s outward actions–if he continues to be just as snobbish or spiteful or envious or ambitious as he was before–then I think we must suspect that his ‘conversion’ was largely imaginary.” CS Lewis
One of the difficulties that I have had with Protestants considering conversion is that they have told me, “Fr. Michael, I have a lot of Catholic friends who attend Church and even go to Bible studies, but some of them are not exactly models of Christian living…” We all need to walk the walk to take this excuse away!
God bless,

A room without books?
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” G.K. Chesterton
Which books line your shelf? Are you feeding your soul with quality reading material?
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Run the race to the finish
Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Friends, in Christ,
“The goal and target of our life is He, the Christ who awaits us — each one singly and altogether — to lead us across the boundaries of time to the eternal embrace of the God who loves us.” St. John Paul II
Keep eternity always at the forefront. Run the race to finish and lean into Christ everyday to help you get there!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
