Jesus is there, through thick and thin, good times and bad.  Never doubt his loving presence and do not be afraid to ask Him for help!

Positive change

November 27, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“Don’t ever take a fence down until you know the reason it was put up.” C.S. Lewis

Change is generally a good and and necessary thing for growth both professionally and personally, but always keeping the “good” from the past and building on and around it.
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Teaching the Faith

November 25, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“To teach even a child to make the sign of the cross or instruct one of God’s little ones, is a nobler work in the eyes of God than all human and natural undertakings.” St. John Eudes

Parents, please do not totally delegate the teaching of the Catholic Faith to CCD or even your Catholic school…teach your children what you believe from the heart!!

Sacred Heart

November 24, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“My divine Savior has given to understand that those who work for the salvation of souls will have a gift of touching the most hardened hearts, and will labor with marvelous success, if they themselves are penetrated with a tender devotion to His Divine Heart.” St. Margaret Mary

As a priest, nothing motivates me more than trying to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus by leading more souls closer to Him!

November 23, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“The reason for our existence is to quench the thirst of Jesus. When he asked for water, the soldier gave him vinegar to drink—but his thirst was for love, for souls, for you and me.” St. Mother Teresa

Swimming in God

November 21, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“In God we live and move and have our being. It is God who gives life to all, who gives power and being to all that exists. But for his sustaining presence, all things would cease to be and fall back into nothingness. Consider that you are in God, surrounded and encompassed by God, swimming in God.” St. Mother Teresa

November 20, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“The most deadly poison of our times is indifference. And this happens, although the praise of God should know no limits. Let us strive, therefore, to praise him to the greatest extent of our powers.” Maximilian Kolbe
God is looking to you for help…are you willing?

TKC!

Dear Friends, in Christ,
I am re-sending the note below because we really could use your help…any small amount would be deeply appreciated!  I do ask those who support the NY Tri-State to wait to support our local effort in the New Year.  Have a blessed Thanksgiving!!
It has been a real pleasure to serve all of you through my daily videos, reflections and LifeZette articles.  Your supportive comments and emails are very encouraging, and I am glad that this simple service has been useful to you and your families.
Once again, I would like to make my annual request for help.  I know that many of you have already been extremely generous in showing your financial support both in DC and NY, so for those who have already given, thank you!!  With 14 priests, seminarians, and mission corps young men currently living in our house in DC and 10 priests living in our house in NY, we have a combined annual budget of over $300,000 and hope to send an additional $30,000 to our seminary in Cheshire, Ct. to support their needs as well.  All donations will be divided between NY and DC.  Please consider being an ANGEL FOR A DAY, whose support will be felt all year by many, by using the link below to make a tax deductible donation*:

November 19, 2018 by Michael Sliney
