Closeness to Christ

November 4, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire: if you want to be wet you must get into the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them.” G.K. Chesterton

Get close to Christ’s Sacred Heart, that burning fire of love…and you will feel the change from within!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Healthy dialogue

November 2, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“The thing I hate about an argument is that it always interrupts a discussion.” C.S. Lewis

Do you try to understand the other’s person’s perspective or do you mentally shut down and simply endure their verbiage, until you can make your point?

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

Annual appeal…please help!!

November 1, 2018 by Michael Sliney

Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends in Christ,
It has been a real pleasure to serve all of you through my daily videos, reflections and LifeZette articles.  Your supportive comments and emails are very encouraging, and I am glad that this simple service has been useful to you and your families.
Once again, I would like to make my annual request for help.  I know that many of you have already been extremely generous in showing your financial support both in DC and NY, so for those who have already given, thank you!!  With 14 priests, seminarians, and mission corps young men currently living in our house in DC and 10 priests living in our house in NY, we have a combined annual budget of over $300,000 and hope to send an additional $30,000 to our seminary in Cheshire, Ct. to support their needs as well.  All donations will be divided between NY and DC.  Please consider being an ANGEL FOR A DAY, whose support will be felt all year by many, by using the link below to make a tax deductible donation*:

All Saints Day

November 1, 2018 by Michael Sliney

“And the more I considered Christianity, the more I found that while it had established a rule and order, the chief aim of of that order was to give room for good things to run wild.” C.S. Lewis

The main focus of all the Saints was not so much to avoid sin, as to evangelize others through their lives of extreme virtue and self-giving!

God bless,

Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
