Just 3 weeks to the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15th. Grateful to God to be injury free and I am excited for marathon #10! Offering up all the training and the race for more priestly vocations!!
Inspirational thoughts
Wasting time?
“Who has never killed an hour? Not casually or without thought but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combination of giving up, not caring, and a resignation that getting past it is all you can hope to accomplish. So you kill the hour. You do not work, you do not read, you do not daydream. If you sleep it is not because you need to sleep. And when at last it is over, there is no evidence: no weapon, no blood, and no body. The only clue might be the shadows beneath your eyes or a terribly thin line near the corner of your mouth indicating something has been suffered, that in the privacy of your life you have lost something and the loss is too empty to share.”
Mark Z. Danielewski, House of Leaves

Caring enough?
“UNLESS someone like you
cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better.
It’s not.”
-Lorax, Dr. Seuss
Fear
“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
― Frank Herbert, Dune
Unconditional love
“You don’t love because, you love despite; not for the virtues, but despite the faults.” William Faulkner
Take yourself lightly
“Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly.”
G.K. Chesterton
Giving up?
“Years wrinkle the skin. Giving up wrinkles the soul.” General Macarthur
