“I’m honest and tell people right to their faces what I think, even when it’s not very flattering. I want to be honest; I think it gets you further and also makes you feel better about yourself.” Anne Frank
Inspirational thoughts
Indifference?
“The most deadly poison of our time is indifference.” St. Maximilian Kolbe
So many empty pews at Mass, so few Confessional lines, such little Marian devotion…we need holy and committed lay people today more than ever! We need selfless and fervent Catholics, who glow with the light of Christ and the peace of Christ!! Priests and Bishops certainly need to step up our game…but we ALL need to help rebuild our Catholic Church!
Life is a song…and a struggle
“Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it.” St. Mother Teresa
Loving your neighbor
“I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?” St. Mother Teresa
Regardless of who God put next to you, try to see some element of God’s providence working…and allow his love to reach their hearts through your kindness!!
Thanking your mentors
“Anyone who ever gave you confidence, you owe them a lot.” Truman Capote
We have all benefited from childhood mentors who made a profound impact on our character development…hopefully you have expressed your gratitude in a sincere and meaningful way for this gift.
When one door closes…
“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.” –Helen Keller
Parenting tip
“Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him, and to let him know that you trust him.” –Booker T. Washington
Beside caddying at Forest Lake Country Club throughout our Grade School and High School years, my two brothers and I had our personal list of household chores, for which we were held accountable…there was not a lot of “helicoptering” but there were hard consequences if they were not done properly and in a timely fashion. I am so grateful for the character and discipline that was instilled during these early years!
Loneliness
“If you are humble nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are.” St. Mother Teresa
Humility begins by recognizing that God is God and we are his creatures, created to know, love and serve HIM…and that without his help and his grace, we simply cannot live a holy life.

Silence
“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.” St. Mother Teresa
