Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Friends, in Christ,

     “Virtue-even attempted virtue-brings light; indulgence brings fog.”  CS Lewis

    Most people do not ask if you “won” your marathon race…they start with, “did you finish” and then perhaps ask your time.  God wants us to at least “put on our running shoes” and try to be virtuous each day…the results are less important than getting back up again and again and again.

Dear Friends, in Christ,

     “To have a right to do a thing is not at all the same as to be right in doing it.” G.K. Chesterton

      Verbal assaults often hurt much more than a punch in the face.  When our passions or emotions are bubbling, it might be better to wait a few days, weeks, or even months before you let that person know how you “really feel.”  Pray for wisdom, prudence, and try to see that person through the compassionate eyes of Christ, knowing that there is probably a lot of past hurt that does not need to be poked again.

    It’s not just a battle of “half-full vs. half empty”, but rather an issue of having complete trust in God or not.  Jesus loves each one of you, his grace will always be enough for you, and he will never abandon you or let you down, ever!

    Please, find a way to give back that works for you.  Soup kitchen, homeless shelter, nursing home, hospital, covenant house, the disabled, mission trips…so many options and they could all use your help both financially and personally!
