“You have been chosen, and you must therefore use such strength and heart and wits as you have.” J.R.R. Tolkien
Parents, Christ is counting on you to form, shape, mold, inspire and even entertain your kids…He will give you all the graces necessary, but you will frequently need to dig deep in your heart out of love for God to go the extra mile. God has entrusted these children to you!

“Smile at each other. Smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other- it doesn’t matter who it is- and that will help to grow up in greater love for each other.” – St. Mother Teresa
Personally, the two most beautiful smiles in the world are my mom and dad’s, especially when they directed it towards me, as their son.
If only this and only that,
If I had a dog…not a cat,
Too cold, too hot…new thermostat?
A bad hair day…it just falls flat!
Respect?…treated like a doormat!
Ok, some days are tougher…it’s true!
And there’s not much you can do.
But Faith can change your world view:
The cross is not a bugaboo,
But sanctity’s best avenue!
Christ himself walked this path…will you?

“Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.” J.R.R Tolkien
Adversity will come, in marriage and in friendship. After the storm, there always comes blue sky and calm, but you need to live through each storm with great trust in God and great love for each other…this is when faith and character are tested and grow.
God bless,

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” J.R.R. Tolkien
Our community of ten priests have breakfast together every morning, and we try to be around for other meals as well. There is plenty of good cheer, good food and real brotherhood, and I think we all find it rejuvenating and invigorating for our active priestly ministry. Family dinners as a kid were one of the major highlights of my childhood!
God bless,
