Behold beauty
Patient endurance

“Without patience, we will learn less in life. We will see less. We will feel less. We will hear less. Ironically, rush and more usually mean less.” St. Mother Teresa
Silence, calm, patient endurance…builds so much character and this is so needed in today’s “give it to me right now” frenetic world.

The Joy of reading
TKC!
“Books are the most wonderful friends in the world. When you meet them and pick them up, they are always ready to give you a few ideas. When you put them down, they never get mad; when you take them up again, they seem to enrich you all the more.” Venerable Fulton J. Sheen
Take time out to read good books. I am a big fan of literary fiction, as it seems to open up a deeper understanding of human nature to my priestly heart, (My recent reads: “Goldfinch”, “All the Light We Cannot See”, “The Road”, “Jane Eyre”, “The Invention of Wings”, “Les Miserables”, “Priestblock 25487”, “The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet”, “Gilead” and “Lila”, anything by Charles Dickens,…), and my overall favorite is CS Lewis.
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
