Virtue of fortitude of my beloved mom
A wood in earnest
“A word in earnest is as good as a speech.” Charles Dickens
Several years ago, myself and a father-daughter group of missionaries, had the privilege of helping hurricane victims from LaPlace, Louisiana move back into their flood ravaged homes. One gentleman from the local Catholic Church came up to me, looked me straight in the eyes and while shaking my hand said, “Thank you for helping, Fr. Michael” This simple expression was said with so much sincerity and it came from the heart…it left a deep impression on me and the group!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
Deference in speaking
Live with hope!

“To live without Hope is to cease to live.” Fyodor Dostoevsky
Look for the sunshine in the clouds, look for the ray of light in the darkness…look for Jesus when you suffer and you will always find him very close!
God bless,

Self mastery
TKC!
“Subdue your appetites, my dears, and you’ve conquered human nature.” Charles Dickens
Taking a little more of the food you don’t like, a little less of what you like…small things, but they go a long way in forming self-mastery in other areas as well.

Seeing Christ in the poor
TKC!
“Dear friends, if you learn to discover Jesus in the Eucharist, you will also know how to discover Him in your brothers and sisters, particularly the very poor.” St. John Paul II
It is so much easier to see the face of Jesus in the poor after spending time with him in the Blessed Sacrament!
God bless,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC
