Joy
“Joy is one of the best safeguards against temptation. The devil is a carrier of dust and dirt; he uses every chance to throw what he has at us. A joyful heart knows how to protect herself from such dirt. Jesus can take full possession of our soul only if it surrenders itself joyfully.” –St. Teresa of Calcutta

Remembering and praying for the dead
“Grit” for God’s Glory
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” Abraham Lincoln
I strongly recommend this book to parents. I thank God for the gift of a mom and dad who instilled the virtue of “grit” in me from an early age…we all need to “fan our gifts into a flame” for God’s glory!

A cry for help
“God knows our situation; He will not judge us as if we had no difficulties to overcome. What matters is the sincerity and perseverance of our will to overcome them.” C.S. Lewis
Sometimes the best prayer are tears and a cry for help…God knows and sees everything, but he wants us to keep going and lean more into him when it gets tough!

Eternal Life
“What toil we must endure, what fatigue, while we are attempting to climb hills and the summits of mountains! What, that we may ascend to heaven! If you consider the promised reward, what you endure is less. Immortality is given to the one who perseveres; everlasting life is offered; the Lord promises His Kingdom.” – St. Cyprian of Carthage
Imagine the celestial finish line…it’s worth it!!

Mentoring
Keep climbing!
Muddy inclines, slippery rocks,
Dehydration and sweat soaked socks!
Tenacious ticks…hovering hawks,
Far away…out in the boondocks!
Sometimes God challenges us…hard!
Surprising…catching us off guard.
Uphill climbs are His “calling card”!
His motive? Love!…don’t disregard!
The view? Wow! A picture postcard!
